Weight loss is progressively becoming a major dilemma for most
people around the world. The standards of beauty and perfection are
increasing by the day, making it more difficult for masses to feel
comfortable in their skins.
As a result, people are turning towards
aggressive weight loss regimes that help them in attaining short-lived
success that is often accompanied by severe health problems.
Here are a few tips and tricks you can use to lose weight and keep it off for permanent results.
Tip #1: What's Your Ideal?
Before you head out to lose weight, it is important for you to
understand how your body differs from other people around you. Instead
of pursuing unrealistic and idealistic weight goals, you need to
identify the healthy weight targets for your body according to the BMI
(Body Mass Index). If you push yourself beyond these limits, you might
end up starving yourself, which comes with its fair share of medical
complications.
Tip #2: Eat Healthy
If you are trying to lose weight, it is the perfect time to start
eating healthy. Get rid of processed and preserved foods around the
house. The junk foods that are rich in carbohydrates need to go out
first. Replace these with fresh and raw ingredients like fresh fruits
and vegetables, lean meats, nuts, natural oils, fresh seafood, poultry
products and others. If you're inclined to snack frequently during the
day, you need to replace these with healthier alternatives as well. This
does not necessarily mean your snacks have to be bitter or unpalatable.
Figure out your strengths and work around these so you can respect your
diet plans. You need to turn around your diet around healthy eating
principles to achieve the desired results.
Tip #3: Beat Those Cravings!
For most people, it is not about the quantity or the quality of the
food consumed at mealtime, it is more about the frequency of snacking
that causes the problems. You need to put your body clock in order to
beat those cravings.
Figure out ways to stop yourself from
consuming unhealthy foods/snacks. Make sure you eat a full serving of
healthy edibles during your meal time. This will help you overcome
untimely hunger pangs. Also, restrict your carbohydrate consumption.
This helps in tackling hunger pangs as well.
Tip #4: Exercise!
There's no alternative for exercise. Healthy eating may be able to
help you lose a few pounds over months, but exercising regularly can
help you expedite the process for quick results. This doesn't
necessarily imply that you need to be in the gym for a major portion of
your day. Creating a 30-minute workout session or exercising 3-4 times
in a week can also play a major role in keeping you fit and healthy.
Tip #5: Acupuncture Helps
According to the research conducted earlier, acupuncture is known to
help with healthy weight loss, enabling you to shed the pounds quicker
and with fewer side-effects. It relaxes the body and the mind, which
makes it easier to adapt to the healthy routine. You might want to try
incorporating it in your healthy regime to see the difference!
Eating Chocolate Can Help You Lose Weight!
If you love eating chocolate, it may help you lose weight as well
as satisfy your sweet cravings according to a new study in the
International Archives of Medicine. Diet and exercise is essential for
any weight loss plan so German researchers analyzed the effect chocolate
has on your diets (Bohannon et al. 2015).
Chocolate has always been one of my favorites when it comes to sweets but it's good to know that it may also have effects on fat loss. During the study that lasted several weeks, men and women between the ages of 19-67 were divided into three groups.
One group followed a low-carbohydrate diet while consuming 42 grams of dark (81%) chocolate each day, another group followed their normal diet, and a control group followed a strict low-carb diet. Besides noting their BMI and weight, participants were also asked to assess their quality of sleep and mental state.
Shockingly, people in the chocolate intervention group experienced the easier and most successful weight loss. Even though there was a delay in the measureable effect of this diet, the weight reduction of this group surpassed the results of the low-carb group by 10% after only three weeks. Furthermore, the fat loss continued, compared to the low-carb group which saw a weight gain after a few weeks.
This is a problem with many weight loss programs as individuals usually gain the weight right back within weeks of losing it. The fact that the weight loss continues after eating dark chocolate is an effect like no other.
The chocolate group also discovered a major improvement in their physical and mental well-being while blood cholesterol levels reduced. This is to say that the people who ate more dark chocolate even slept better and benefited from a decrease in serious health issues. It's just something about chocolate that puts me in a good mood while satisfying my sweet tooth that I love the most.
For those of you who love chocolate, consumption with high cocoa content can drastically improve the success of weight-loss diets. "To our surprise, the effect of chocolate is real," says Bohannon. "It is not enough to just consume chocolate, but in combination with exercise and reduction in carbohydrates, our data indicate that chocolate can be a weight loss accelerator." I believe if you eat dark chocolate in moderation while getting some physical activity on a daily basis, you should be fine for a start. Eat more chocolate, lose weight easier!
